Invite God In

Invite God In

My four-year-old son, Briggs, and I talk a lot about family connections.  He wants to know who you are related to; do you have two sisters like he does, etc.  On a recent visit to see my parents, Briggs asked my mom about her daddy.  She told him that her daddy no longer lived here with us but now lived with God every day. My mom asked Briggs if he would like to see a picture of her daddy.  He answered excitedly, “Yes!  Is God in it?”. We may have laughed about the innocence of his question at the time, but it is a great reminder for us invite God in to our everyday.

The Preschool Ministry verse for October is, “We will worship and obey God.” Joshua 24:24. There are two examples, right in this verse, that help us to invite God into our daily life.  We can do this together as a family by listening to worship music on the way to school or while you are getting everyone ready for bed. You can take turns sharing your highs and lows around the dinner table and pray together about them. Invite God in to celebrate your new friend, or to help you with worries over an upcoming test.

Our lives get busy and some days pass by so quickly.  Take a few moments to step back and invite God in to your family’s life.

Preschool Ministry

The Preschool Ministry of FBCA understands the importance of establishing trust with parents and children. Trust must come first for your child to be able to soak in the love God has for them. As your child grows and matures, our goal for their spiritual understanding is to know: God made them. God loves them. God is their friend. These basic principles are what we teach in all areas of our Preschool Ministry.
