Connection and community! We all need it!
In the beginning God created man to be in relationship with Him. Then, he saw that it wasn’t good for man to be alone, so He created a helper, a partner, a woman. The idea of being in relationship was important to God, so maybe we should give it our attention, too.
Being connected, living life with others, and having meaningful relationships is so very important to our emotional and spiritual well-being. Sometimes due to life circumstances it’s challenging to be connected and feel isolated and all alone. Being the long-term caregiver for a loved one who is homebound or needs 24-hour watch, going through an extended and challenging medical disease, treatment or rehab are ways we might unintentionally shelter ourselves and become “dis-connected”. If that’s where you find yourself, reach out to your church family and let us pray for you, come along side you as you walk through your journey, encourage you and love you. Our people are so good a caring for one another and many have traveled a similar journey as you. You may have stumbled on here looking for answers or help and don’t have a church family…let us be that for you. Reach out and let us know what your needs are and how we can help you! God has faithfully carried us through difficult and challenging times…let us do the same for you!
The Message is a contemporary language version of the Bible and this is how it reads in 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (emphasis is mine):
All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.
PS – a great place to find connection is on Wednesdays at our Games and Fellowship Time from 9:30 am – noon…right before the Pastor’s Bible Study and Lunch! We need community – so come find yours!
