If we ever allow ourselves to love anyone in this life, then grief is inevitable for all of us. If you are grieving, here are 10 Bible verses about grief to provide comfort, hope, and reassurance. 

Seek comfort and reassurance in your time of grief with these powerful and uplifting Bible verses.

  1. Psalm 34:18 
    The Lord is close to the brokenhearted 
        and saves those who are crushed in spirit. 
  2. Revelation 21:4 
    ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 
  3. Matthew 5:4 
    Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 
  4. 1 Peter 5:7 
    Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 
  5. John 11:25-26 
    Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” 
  6. Psalm 147:3 
    He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
