WaM!
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech,
in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12
(NIV 1984)
WAM exists to provide a healthy and fun atmosphere that purposefully develops and empowers children as Christians; who Glorify God through their worship and serve as leaders in the church and community while Following the Jesus Way in speech, in life, in love, and in faith.
WAM! is for preschoolers and children on Wednesdays at 6:00. This is a time to experience worship, participate in the arts, and learn about missions. From choir time, instruments, and music games, to missions activities and leading in worship, preschoolers will learn how they can praise and serve God in big ways.
Preschool
WaM for preschoolers will be from 6:00-7:15. Note that this has an earlier ending time than the children (6:00-7:30). Each Wednesday they will get a chance to rotate through different classes such as, choir, instruments, music activity, and missions. Each week you will need to drop of your preschooler in their assigned room (by age) and sign them in. This includes leaving your preschooler’s name, your name, and your cell number. Your child will receive their name tag in the first class. After rotating through Choir, instruments or music activity, and the missions class they will need to leave their name tag with the teacher. The last thing to be aware of is a policy stating that parents of preschoolers must remain on campus during WaM. This is for the safety of your children, and will also give you a chance to be a part of WaM Crave.
Children
WaM for children will be from 6:00-7:30. Note that this has an later ending time than the preschoolers (6:00-7:15). Each Wednesday they will get a chance to rotate through 3 different classes- Ministry Teams, Choir, and Missions. Ministry Teams are chosen by the children in their online registration. Every semester the children will be a part of a missions outreach project called “KidBlitz”. This will be a chance for the Ministry Team to perform and the missions classes to participate in the community in a very hands on way. Choirs and Missions classes are offered by grade level. These classes provide outlets for children to lead in worship, outreach, and musical performances. The last thing to be aware of is a policy stating that parents of children must remain on campus during WaM. This is for the safety of your children, and will also give you a chance to be a part of WaM Crave.
WAM! Xtreme
Wam Xtreme is an extended time for our 4th-6th graders to participate in our childrens orchestra. Childrens orchestra meets outside the regular WaM time and is offered to children on all different experience levels. CHildren’s orchestra meets on Wednesday nights before WAM in the instrumental room.
WAM! Crave
WAM Crave is a time of prayer during WAM Wednesdays. From 6:00-7:30pm, in the chapel, we will have a come and go time of prayer offered for you to come by and pray, worship, journal, and lift up each child and teacher by name. There is no greater thing we can do as a Christian than to pray. Can you even imagine what great things would happen on WAM Wednesdays if it was completely covered in prayer by our church, staff, and families? So, take a few minutes while your kids are in WAM (or teachers- during your off class time) and come and pray over this ministry and for God to accomplish things in WAM that only HE could receive glory for.
