WAM! (kids age 3yrs – 6th grade)
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech,
in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12
WAM exists to provide a healthy and fun atmosphere that purposefully develops and empowers children as Christians; who Glorify God through their worship and serve as leaders in the church and community while Following the Jesus Way in speech, in life, in love, and in faith.
WAM! is for preschoolers and children on Wednesdays at 6:00. This is a time to experience worship, participate in the arts, and learn about missions. From choir time, instruments, and music, to missions activities and leading in worship, children will learn how they can praise and serve God in big ways.
WaM for preschoolers will be from 6:00-7:15. Each Wednesday they will get a chance to rotate through different classes such as choir, instruments & music activities, and missions. Each week you will need to drop off your preschooler in their assigned room (by age) and sign them in. This includes leaving your preschooler’s name, your name, and your cell number. Please be aware of our policy stating that parents of preschoolers must remain on campus during WaM. This is for the safety of your children.
WaM for children will be from 6:00-7:30. Each Wednesday they will get a chance to rotate through 3 different classes- Ministry Teams, Choir, and Missions. Ministry Teams are chosen by the children during registration. Every semester the children will be a part of a missions outreach project called “KidBlitz”. This will be a chance for the children and their families to give back to the community in a very hands-on way. Choirs and Missions classes are offered by grade level. These classes provide outlets for children to lead in worship, outreach, and musical performances. The last thing to be aware of our policy stating that parents of children must remain on campus during WaM. This is for the safety of your children.
Wam Xtreme is an extended time for our 4th-6th graders to participate in our childrens orchestra. Childrens orchestra meets outside the regular WaM time and is offered to children on all different experience levels. Children’s orchestra meets on Wednesday nights at 5:30 PM in the instrumental room.

Fall 2013 Ministry Teams
Fun with Music – Join us for a fun introduction to music. Learn about rhythm, be able to identify music symbols, and learn to begin reading music. Activities, games and songs will make this class perfect for active learners.
Splat – Paint, draw, sculpt and more in this hands-on class. Students will create individual projects, along with participating with other ministry teams to create items to bless our church, people in our community and around the world.
Hip Hop Crew – Praise the Lord through dancing! Our hip hop crew will learn choreography that will be performed in worship settings throughout the year. No previous experience is necessary – dancers of all ability levels are welcome to join our hip hop crew.
Instrument-Palooza – Every week is a new adventure in Instruments- Palooza! Students will explore Boomwhackers, drums, xylophones, desk bells, and more. Join us as we learn about all the ways we can make music.
Crafts with a Cause – Do you love to make crafts? This is the class for you. Students will make play dough for the children at Women’s Shelter, treats for the police officers involved in our Shield a Badge program, and so much more. Each craft is used to bless someone in our community.
Blacklight Puppets – Learn to be a worship leader through the Blacklight Puppets ministry team. We use puppets, signs, streamers, gloves and more choreographed to contemporary worship songs. Ministry Team members are required to have a solid black long sleeved shirt, solid black pants, and black socks for performances.
Drama – Explore worship leadership through dramatic arts. Students may be asked to recite scripture in worship services or evening presentations or fulfill a role in a children’s musical. Outgoing personalities who are willing to memorize scripture or lines outside of class time and regularly attend on Wednesday nights will make strong drama ministry team members.
Choir Chimes – Our children’s choir chimes team will learn to read music and to play the choir chimes. No previous musical experience required. Choir chimes are a perfect beginning instrument. Our choir chimes will play in worship services and evening presentations. Regular Wednesday evening attendance is important for this ministry team.
Boom Do Pa – is a creative music class using drums, boomwhackers, rhythm sticks and other instruments where we will explore music improvisation from cultures around the world. We will explore music from regions where our missionaries currently serve: Southeast Asia, East Asia, Japan, Western Africa & Central America. Children will have the opportunity to improvise using various instruments from these cultures and learning rhythms, scales and sounds associated with these cultures. This is a non-performance class because of the improvisational nature. Therefore, it will not be geared toward performance, but rather toward teaching how to listen, play and experiment with music and instruments from other cultures.
Models & Woodworking – A ministry team designed for kids who love to work with their hands. The team will be working on items to be placed in the Operation Christmas Child boxes and other projects that will benefit our church and community.
Photography- Capture the wonders of God’s creation in this exciting ministry team. Bring your own camera and learn about lighting, perspective, and more.
