It All Belongs to God! (Psalm 24:1-2)

Dennis R. Wiles, October 7, 2012
Part of the Deepening Our Roots series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

It All Belongs to God!
Psalm 24:1-2

We believe STEWARDSHIP OF OUR EARTHLY GOODS IS A GOD-GIVEN RESPONSIBILITY! God has blessed us with earthly resources. We are to honor Him in how we handle our money and our possessions. As obedient stewards we are to invest our time, talents and treasures regularly in the work of God’s Kingdom.

FASTING AND PRAYER FOCUS
FOCAL PASSAGE: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
FASTING AND PRAYER GUIDE: Here we have a powerful principle stated and explained. Sowing and reaping are connected. As you meditate on this passage, reflect on the maturity of your stewardship. Financially – are you the best steward you can be? With regard to your talents – are you responsible as a steward? With you time – are you stewarding it well? Make the necessary changes to become a better steward of all God has entrusted to you.

Text: Psalm 94:1-2

God owns it all!

The first principle of Christian stewardship is the acknowledgement of divine ownership. As followers of Jesus, we recognize that God owns everything! He calls us to be faithful stewards and managers of all entrusted to us. Understanding the distinction between ownership and management is essential to our spiritual formation.

1 Chronicles 29:14; Job 41:11; Haggai 2:8

We are stewards who partner with God in managing what He has entrusted to us.

We are held accountable for how we manage life’s assets.

Psalm 24:1-2

A Psalm of David.

24:1 The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers. (ESV)
