The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God (Genesis 1:1-2)

Dennis R. Wiles, May 6, 2012
Part of the Deepening Our Roots series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God
Genesis 1:1-2

We believe the HOLY SPIRIT IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD! He convicts people of sin and draws them to Jesus. He indwells the life of each believer. He guides us into truth and seals us for eternity. He gifts each follower of Jesus to be useful in God’s hands in service to the church and world. He empowers the people of God to face the rigors of life on earth.

FASTING AND PRAYER FOCUS
FOCAL PASSAGE: 1 Corinthians 2:6-16
FASTING AND PRAYER GUIDE: God has designed us with the ability to live in relationship with Him. He has chosen to reveal Himself and His will to us through His Holy Spirit. Read through this passage and pay attention to the role the Holy Spirit plays in our lives. Reflect upon how He reveals the ways and thoughts of God. Ask Him to reveal the deep things of God to you. Spend some time cultivating the skill of hearing the Spirit.
