Orchestras and Instrumentals
“The trumpeters and singers joined in unison,as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: ‘He is good; his love endures forever.’” 2 Chronicles 5:13 (NIV 1984)
Instrumental Worship Ministry Purpose Statement
Our Instrumental Worship Ministry exists to glorify God through the musical support of our corporate worship by utilizing the unique giftedness of those He has called to serve in this ministry. Our purpose is also to develop these gifts by offering a graded approach, allowing for many engagement points into this ministry. Finally, it is also imperative that we discover, cultivate, and empower leaders who influence others along theJesus Way.
Do you play violin? How about saxophone? If so, we have a place for you. If you are a woodwind player or strings player, we especially need you. Our instrumental groups are for instrumentalists of all levels and abilities. Please contact Emily Klophaus for more information or just come along for one of our scheduled rehearsals.
Youth orchestra meets just 45 minutes prior to the 2nd service, at 8:45 in the choir room. We rehearse with the Adult Choir and orchestra for this brief time. Then, you can play in the service you normally attend. Youth Band is also offered for all 9th-12 graders by audition.
For more information, email Emily Klophaus or call the Music Office at 817. 276.6435.
We are always in need of instruments. If you would be willing to donate an instrument to the church orchestra, please contact Emily Klophaus. We will put it to good use!
We invite you to come and join our Sanctuary Orchestra. We have rehearsals on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:15 in the Sanctuary. We always start with a combined run-through of Sunday morning’s service along with our Media team and Sanctuary Choir, and then divide up for group rehearsals. Or, if Wednesday nights don’t work in your schedule, we invite you to join us for our earlybird rehearsal on Sundays at 8:45 in the Choir Room. Contact Emily Klophaus for more information.
We are going to have a special lunch and rehearsal on Sunday, March 23 immediately following the Heritage Service. If you haven’t played with us, or are a youth or adult who play an instrument but attend the Awaken service, this would be a great rehearsal for you to attend. We will work on Easter music and our Sunday evening program on April 7 “Share the Joy.” We are always accepting new members. Contact Emily Klophausfor more information. Here’s a run-down of some upcoming orchestra events:
March 20 — Orchestra rehearsal. BRASS PLAYERS — it’s especially important that you attend this rehearsal. We are going to prepare for our Brass Call to Worship on Sunday, March 24 and we need all brass player on hand.

–By Audition Only–
Whether you are an old 80’s hair-band rocker, an up and coming independent garage band member or just have gotten really good at the RockBand video game, we have a place for you in the worship ministry. We rotate guitarists, bassists and drummers into the weekly and monthly Sunday rotation. We typically rehearse on Thursday night, unless the schedule is different on PlanningCenterOnline. Because of the great commitment to this ministry, we do require an audition to be a part of this team and church membership is required. We need someone who is comfortable both reading music and reading chord charts.
If you have a heart and passion to help lead God’s people in worship through the gifts and talents He has given you, we’d love for you to be a part of the Rhythm Section. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact Emily Klophaus by email or at (817) 276-6462.
Do you enjoy ringing handbells? If so, we’d love for you to join this ministry. Whether you are an experienced ringer, or have just dabbled, we have a place for you. Our groups meet on Sunday afternoons. For more information, contact Debbie Bertrand or the Music Office at 817.276.6435.
