The Preschool Ministry of FBC ministers to preschoolers, birth through kindergarten and their families, by partnering with parents to lay a strong Biblical foundation during these first crucial years of life.

Because children learn more during their first five years than in any other time in their life, we are committed to train loving Christian people to teach Bible based curriculum through age appropriate activities in a safe learning environment.

Volunteers for Preschool Ministry “fit” this calling by having a nurturing spirit, a willing and committed desire to make a difference, a love for children, a fun and interactive personality, and a great concern for young families from all walks of life.

Sunday School – 9:30 & 11:00 am

Responsible for a specific age group between the ages of Infants – Kindergarteners.
Teach the Bible stories through play, activities, books and story times.
Curriculum, resources, supplies and training are provided to every teacher in every age group.
The Sunday School year is a commitment from August to August

Lead Teachers

Responsible for using the curriculum in planning each lesson
Plan with the support teachers in their class
Take care of the large group story time
Make sure contacts are being made with the students enrolled in their class

Support Teachers

Responsible for carrying out a small group activity by following the suggestions from our teaching curriculum
Work and plan with the guidance of the lead teacher in their assigned class

Greeters

Friendly person who is naturally drawn to young children
Greet new families as they enter our Welcome Center
From the Welcome Center the greeter takes the family to the age appropriate class for their child
Helps the parents find their own class or Worship service.

Friends of Preschool

9:30 and 11:00

Serve as an “Extra Hand” for our Sunday School teachers on a once-a-month rotation.
A two month calendar is designed and emailed to you. Then a reminder postcard is mailed the week prior to the Sunday you have agreed to serve. It will include the room in which your extra help is needed.

WAM! - Worship and Missions for Kids

Wednesday nights at 6:00 – 6:40 pm

We have wonderful, caring, talented leaders who love boys and girls and love to share God’s love through music. Click here to view all of the leadership opportunities available in WAM!.

Mission

Wednesday Nights 6:40 – 7:15 pm

Directors

a person who loves preschoolers and can coordinate our mission’s curriculum with our own Global Mission efforts.

Teachers

Responsible for a specific age group between 3 year olds – Kindergarten
Teach about different cultures, languages, regions and environments with the focus being the work of missionaries all around the world
Curriculum, resources, supplies and training are provided to every teacher in every age group.
The WAM! commitment is from September through May, during the school year.

One week of the summer, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

VBS Classroom Teachers

Responsible for a specific age group between Infants – Kindergartners
Teach with a team of adults through activities, snacks, crafts and stories to communicate God’s word to the children
Curriculum, resources, supplies and training are provided to every teacher in every age group
Decorate the classroom to coordinate with the VBS theme, with resources provided
Preparation begins in early April

VBS Music Teachers

Responsible for teaching songs to each age group as they rotate through the music class during the week of VBS
Coordinate the Songs, instruments, movements and games with the theme of VBS, designated by the VBS Director
Decorate the individual music rooms with resources provided

VBS Recreation Teachers

Responsible for leading organized games and activities as each age group rotates through the Recreation area
Gather and coordinate necessary equipment

VBS Playground Team

Responsible for safety and supervision on the playground as the class rotate outdoor play time
Check the safety of the playground before classes enter
Gather first aide kit, water cooler, cups and trash can liners
Set out balls and bikes at the beginning of the morning
Cleanup any trash, place bikes in the storage building and straighten up the sand pits at the end of the morning

VBS Snack Assistants

Responsible for sorting, preparing and delivering snacks to the Preschool classes during the week
Clean and coordinate the kitchen

VBS Resource Team

Sort and gather supplies for each age group, with the help of the Preschool Resource Assistant
Cut and assemble necessary resources
Put notebooks and resource kits together
Some resource work can be done at home and will begin as early as March

VBS Decorators

Design, prepare and place decorations in the Kindergarten and Fellowship hallways two weeks before VBS begins
Decorations will coordinate with the VBS theme
Clean-up decorations one or two weeks after VBS

New & Expectant Parent Team

Adopt an expectant couple
Send notes of encouragement through out their time of expectancy and then 8 weeks after the birth of their child
Build a relationship with them that gives them an added support system
