Brown Bag Blessing

Thanksgiving is right around the corner!  Can you imagine Thanksgiving without a big dinner?  I know I can’t.  Celebrating the day through eating good food is a big part of our family’s tradition.  But what would it be like if you couldn’t provide that for your family?   The reality is we know there are families all over our community who will be in this very situation and won’t be able to provide the thing so many of us take for granted.  Community Connections is inviting you to participate in the “Brown Bag Blessing” as a way for you to tangibly communicate to another family your love for them by providing the “fixings” for their Thanksgiving dinner.  All you have to do is pick up one of the “brown bags” provided. They will be available in the Welcome Center beginning November 2nd.  Attached will be a shopping list.  Simply purchase the items listed, place them in the bag and return it to the table in the Welcome Center by November 25th or take them directly to Mission Arlington.  Then, if you’re able, purchase a turkey and take it directly to Mission Arlington so that it can be placed with one of the “Brown Bag Blessing” sacks.  Finally, if you’re available on Thanksgiving morning, you can show up at Mission Arlington to help deliver the dinners to families.  Do what you can.  Together we can make a big difference!  If you have questions or want to visit about it just give me a call at 817.276.6477 or Kim Grice.
