Come Join The Team For Our 5th Year At Kid’s Hope!
Posted: September 4th, 2014
Community Connections is excited to begin planning for our 5th year of our mentorship program, Kids Hope USA, at Speer Elementary. Kids Hope is one child, one person, one hour a week, for one school year program. As a mentor you’ll be trained to help meet the social, emotional and academic needs of a child who needs some additional support through a one-on-one, Jesus with skin on relationship. KIDS HOPE USA mentors spend just one hour per week, reading, talking, playing and listening to a child at school. You can be the one to change a child life! We need at least 30 new mentors to begin in September!
We have also formed a “SPEER TEAM” to come alongside the faculty and staff to support and encourage them throughout the school year. As a part of this team you will receive emails about the different projects we are working on at Speer. This could involve providing food for luncheons honoring the teachers, helping shelve books in the library, or supporting school events.
Begin praying now about whether you can commit to this worthwhile endeavor. To receive more information on the Kids Hope Mentor program, or to become a part of the Speer Team contact: Kim Grice, Director of Community Connections, or Merrick Steele, Kids Hope Director. You can also sign up here!
